Gray and Gardner-Cox named to HMH Board of Directors

The Harrison Memorial Hospital Board of Directors will begin 2023 with two new members.  Angela Gray and Janelle Gardner-Cox, were unanimously voted as members by the board at the 2022 December meeting. 

Angela Gray, a native of Harrison County, has 29 years of experience in finance and accounting administration. She received both her Bachelor of Administration Degree with an emphasis in Accounting and her Master of Business Administration Degree from Morehead State University. 

Tara Wagner, APRN, joins HMH Primary Care Main

Harrison Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of  Family Nurse Practitioner Tara Wagner, APRN, to its medical staff. She will treat patients at HMH Primary Care Main in Cynthiana.

An APRN is a registered nurse who has completed an advanced, graduate-level education program and has passed a national certification examination in order to practice in one of four APRN roles (clinical nurse specialist, nurse midwife, nurse practitioner and registered nurse anesthetist).

HMH opened Primary Care South on December 15

HMH Physician Group is pleased to announce another primary care option to the community for Cynthiana and Harrison County. HMH opened the HMH Primary Care South office on December 15, 2022. The office is located at 809 U.S. 27 South, Suite 107, the former Verizon location.

“As we continue to build our primary care services at HMH, we wanted to provide services off-site in Cynthiana and the perfect choice was U.S. 27 South,” said Dr. Stephen Toadvine, HMH Chief Executive Officer. “In the future, we plan to transition to a rural health clinic offering more services in the area.”

HMH Cardiologist Treats Heart Failure Patients Using Breakthrough CCM® Therapy

Hutchison and Hedges earn Certification as Rural Health Care Professionals

Heather Hutchison, HMH Director of Finance, and Shannon Hedges, HMH Primary Care Carlisle Patient Services Coordinator, are now Certified Rural Health Care Professionals (CRHCP). 

The certification is through the National Association of Rural Health Clinics. The course content includes administration, billing, coding, compliance and quality in regards to rural health clinics. Also, part of the course is the federal updates to the rural health clinic program. 

Jenkins earns Certification in Healthcare Compliance

Rebecca Jenkins, HMH Chief Compliance Officer, has successfully completed all requirements to hold the designation of Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) Professional. To become a CHC, one must serve in a healthcare compliance role, complete CEU requirements and successfully pass a comprehensive examination governed by the Compliance Certification Board. 

Dr. Stacy Taylor-Hunt joins HMH Medical Staff

Harrison Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Stacy Taylor-Hunt, primary care physician, to its medical staff. She will treat patients at HMH Primary Care Main in Cynthiana.

A primary care medical practice is the first place a patient will contact when he or she requires healthcare. A primary care provider offers a broad range of patient care services, including health maintenance, prevention, disease diagnosis and management, and overall healthy lifestyle promotion.

Harrison Memorial Hospital Offers First-Of-Its-Kind Treatment for Heart Disease

Harrison Memorial Hospital offers a new treatment option for patients with severely calcified coronary artery disease living in our communities. HMH is now using shockwaves to treat calcified coronary plaque. The new technology is a novel application of lithotripsy, an approach that uses sonic pressure waves to safely break up kidney stones. It’s now available to treat problematic calcium in the coronary arteries that can reduce blood flow in the heart. 

Hunt joins HMH Pain Management Clinic

Harrison Memorial Hospital announces the addition of Amber Hunt, Family Nurse Practitioner at the HMH Pain Management Clinic.

Anderson joins Anjum Bux, M.D., in providing treatment options and management techniques to patients with either acute or chronic pain. She began seeing patients in August 2022. 

The HMH Pain Management Clinic was established in February 2015. The clinic will diagnose acute and chronic pain and create individualized treatment plans for patients, based on a number of considerations, including the cause and level of pain.
