HMH ranked 2nd in Best Places to Work in Kentucky

Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) was recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in Kentucky sixteenth Annual Awards Ceremony on September 9 at the virtual event. The final rankings were announced at the event, and HMH ranked second out of 31 in the medium business category.

The Best Places to Work in Kentucky 2020 list is made up of 100 companies. There are three categories – small companies of 15-149 employees, medium companies of 150-499 employees and large companies consisting of more than 500 employees. HMH has been awarded this honor and was listed in the medium company category with 30 additional companies.

HMH has ranked second for two consecutive years, which is the highest ranking since being a part of awards ceremony in 2011. Furthermore, HMH was the highest ranked healthcare facility in all three groups. In addition, HMH was honored for being named the Best Places to Work in Kentucky for ten straight years. For the past ten years, HMH has been ranked eight times in the top ten.

“We are delighted and proud to receive this prestigious honor for Harrison Memorial Hospital. HMH one of the largest employers in Harrison County, providing careers to more than 450 highly skilled, highly dedicated professionals in both the clinical and non-clinical fields.” says Dr. Stephen Besson, Chairman of the Harrison Memorial Hospital Board of Directors. “In addition, being ranked second in the medium business category is remarkable, and strengthens the fact that HMH is a top facility for employment as well as patient care.”

The awards program was created in 2005 and is a project of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management Council and Best Companies Group.

This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Kentucky, benefiting the state’s economy, workforce and businesses. The Best Places to Work in Kentucky 2020 list is made up of 100 companies.

“Being named second out of 31 companies and having the highest healthcare facility ranking is a phenomenal achievement. The patients we serve are most benefited when the employees are happy and committed to their organization”, said Sheila Currans, HMH Chief Executive Officer. “Employees are truly the core to our success and we want each employee to feel appreciated and respected.   Hopefully, this environment will serve to only enhance the patient care experience.”
