New Women's Imaging Center Open House Set for September 30

In an effort to continue providing comprehensive women's care to our patients, Harrison Memorial Hospital is proud to announce the grand opening of our Women's Imaging Center. The new digital imaging area, located on the first floor of the hospital in the space previously occupied by the emergency department, was carefully designed with women in mind.

The grand opening will be held Thursday, September 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. and is open to the public. Free tours of the new facility will be provided, with experts on hand to answer all your questions. Door prizes and giveaways also will be available.

This new imaging center will offer ultrasound, Dexascan, bone density testing and more. But the most significant improvement will be theintroduction of digital mammography.

"Moving from conventional film reading to digital mammography allows our radiologists to see multiple views, contrast images from dark to light and magnify areas of concern. Essentially, when our physicians can better manipulate the image, rather than look at a still film image, a more accurate reading is the end result. Digital mammography also allows for faster processing time, which means quicker reading time" says Don Wynn, Director of Ancillary Services.

The new Woman's Imaging Center also will provide more dressing areas that allow for greater privacy. Attention to detail in planning resulted in a bathroom being located just adjacent to the ultrasound area -- a major convenience for ultrasound patients being viewed with a full bladder.
