February marks Go Red For Women Month full of activities: It’s that time of year again for the annual American Heart Association Go Red for Women Campaign, in recognition of the fight against heart disease in females. Mark your February calendar for a month of activities to recognize this important cause.

The February 22 reception will be held at 5 p.m. at Cynthiana Christian Church. The event includes food, door prizes and the first 200 attendees will receive a free tote bag. The educational portion of the event will be a panel discussion on cardiovascular disease. Panel members will include: cardiologist Nezar Falluji, M.D.; pharmacist Jackie Burrell; HMH dietitian Jara Bauer; and HMH fitness trainer Kasey Workman.

Health Fairs planned for Harrison and Pendleton counties: A FREE Community Health Fair is planned for Thursday, April 8, from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Harrison County Middle School. Screenings for cholesterol, blood glucose, blood pressure, body fat analysis and breathing capacity will be offered at no charge to all participants. And a Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) test will be offered FREE to all men.

Pendleton County Connections & Health Fair will be Saturday, February 27, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sharp Middle School in Butler, KY. FREE tests for blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, body fat and more will be given, as well as PSA tests for men.

HMH welcomes new specialty physicians: Harrison Memorial Hospital is pleased to add three physician specialists to our Specialty Clinics.

Christopher Buckley, D.O., is a board-certified dermatologist. He graduated from Pikeville College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in Family and Community Medicine at University of Kentucky College of Medicine. Manoj Kohli, M.D., is a board-certified rheumatologist, treating diseases characterized by symptoms involving the musculoskeletal system, such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis. A native of India, he earned his medical degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. He completed his residency at the State University of New York Health Sciences Center, Brooklyn, NY, and his fellowship in rheumatology at Oregon Health Science University, Portland, OR. Randy A. Rosen, M.D., is a board-certified nephrologist, who diagnoses and treats kidney disease. Dr. Rosen earned his medical degree from University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, FL. HMH adds Dexascan to Radiology Department to measure bone density, analyze body fat - Open House planned for Spring 2010: Harrison Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the expansion of our Radiology Department. The area will house our ultrasound and a future digital mammography unit.
